The Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Conference (HOPCON) is a two-day, live regional event designed for oncology pharmacists regardless of practice setting who want to stay current in their field. These conferences will offer both current and cutting edge educational and networking opportunities.

Formerly known as the Northeast Regional Hematology Oncology Pharmacists Symposium (NEHOPS), HOPCON will have two conferences this year, one in August (HOPCON – Midwest) and one in October (HOPCON – New England). There will be networking events and an Exhibition Program at both conferences where attendees can connect with representatives from leading pharmaceutical companies and regional health systems. Attendees can also obtain BCOP recertification credits at both conferences! More information can be found below.

Need BCOP re-certification credits? We are excited to announce that CE credit obtained at either HOPCON – Midwest or HOPCON – New England can be used towards BCOP recertification!  BPS is piloting a continuing professional development (CPD) recertification framework, allowing pharmacists with BCOP certification to earn up to 20 credits of self-reported CPD by the end of the seven-year recertification cycle.  These 20 credits will apply to the 100 required credits over the seven-year re-certification period. Eighty (80) of the 100 required credits must be obtained from BPS-approved professional development programs.

Please note that this pilot program framework begins with pharmacists starting a new recertification cycle in 2024 or after.

For more information on the BPS Pilot Program, please visit the Board of Pharmacy Specialties website as well as the “Pathways to Recertification” portion of their frequently asked questions page.

Join us at HOPCON-Midwest to earn up to 7 hours of ACPE credits, and up to 7 hours of ACPE credits at HOPCON-New England, which can be applied to BCOP recertification!

In most states, nurses, nurse practitioners, and physicians assistants are able to claim ACPE credits towards annual licensure requirements.  These credits count as pharmacology credits.  A NABP number is required to obtain credit.  Please consult your state board for specific requirements, and either Meg Taylor (mtaylor@cesynergy.com) or April Elwood (aelwood@cesynergy.com) for any questions!
